Watch Story

“On August 20, 2015 I was in a motorcycle accident which resulted in the need to get my left leg amputated on September 1, 2015. I started coming to Bremer Prosthetics in January 2016 after my limb was healed and ready for the prosthesis.

Once the fitting started to take place I noticed I was having a lot of pain on the distal end of my limb.

Nate tried everything he could to help relieve the pain and we mutually came to the conclusion due to the change in the limb that it may be best to go in for revision surgery. Going in for revision surgery and making the necessary changes to my limb would ease the pain and allow for a better fit for my prosthesis. I knew this was my best option, and I decided to go in for revision surgery in February 2016.

Nate recommended Dr. Ertl at Indiana University for my revision surgery. Nate was kind enough to head down to Indiana with me and stay by my side as the surgery took place. Dr. Ertl did a wonderful job on the revision surgery, and it has made a huge difference in the fit and feel of my prosthesis.

I am in the process of getting my definitive prosthesis and I could not be more pleased with the way everything has been going. Everyone at Bremer Prosthetics is very positive, helpful, and always willing to go above and beyond for me.

They are willing to fit me into their schedule for a last minute appointment if I am having any issues, and they schedule appointments accordingly to give the patient little to no wait and they do so in a very comfortable environment.

I highly recommend Bremer Prosthetics, and I am happy to be back to riding my motorcycle and jet ski, and I enjoy getting out of the house to go to many different events.”
