Physical Therapy Is Hard For Amputees Because There are Less Than 1% Of Them In The World

100% of physical therapists are going to know how to treat someone for back pain, however since amputees are less than 1% of the population, it is hard to find a physical therapist who knows how to teach gait walking to someone who has just received their first prosthesis. We encourage everyone to go to physical therapy, it is essential to recovery. Yet, our recommendation is to find someone who has worked with amputees before, and is comfortable with engaging with your prosthetists to design a plan that works best for you. You deserve a physical therapist who specializes in working with amputees. Keep looking until you find them!Looking to join in on the conversation?
