Does a Prosthetic Running Leg Give Amputees An Advantage? | The pain it takes to run, walk and bike

We hear it all the time, "Does a prosthetic running leg give amputees an advantage?" Let me ask you this? Would you feel like it is an advantage to have your leg severed, removed, and then have your tibia/femur pounding against plastic/carbon fiber every time you run, walk, jump or try to get around? The pain and energy that amputees endure just to be physically trained enough to make it to the paralympics or olympics takes x5 more energy than that of someone with two completely functioning lower extremities. Please think twice before saying that prosthetic running leg gives someone a competitive advantage, you have no idea what they are going, or have been through. On Wednesday we'd love to have you join us at our Amputee Ask Me Anything Meet Up on Zoom, from 4-6pm EST.Register here: https://www.bremerprosthetics.com/register/ask-me-anything-june-8-2022
